Information & Technology Association (GITA)
Byers has been a member and corporate sponsor of GITA since 1981,
and has a long history of involvement with the organization. GITA
is the only non-profit educational association in the world that
focuses on applying Automated Mapping and Facilities Management
(AM/FM), Geographic Information Systems (GIS), Supervisory Control
and Data Acquisition (SCADA), and related information technologies
for utilities, government agencies, and other organizations concerned
with land records and facilities management.
GITA provides a forum to educators, experts, and novices for discussing
processes, problems, and solutions to accessing and managing mapping
and utilities database information using computer-based information
